Our Mission(s)
Central Baptist Church is committed to the Great Commission. As a cooperating Southern Baptist Church, we are involved both in North America and around the world in support of our missionaries and mission causes. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Georgia Baptist Convention and Friendship Baptist Association. Mission teams consisting of adults and student frequently go on mission trips to accomplish various objectives, the greatest of which is to tell others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Mission Trips
In taking part in Jesus' command for us to "go and make disciples of all nations," we have sponsored many trips to spread the gospel of Christ. Below, we have listed just a few of the many mission trips that we have participated in or are participating in now.
- Eastern Kentucky, USA
- Honduras, Central America
- Nicaragua, Central America
- Colorado, USA
- Slovakia, Central Europe
- Americus, Georgia, USA

In addition to organizing mission trips to locations in need, Central Baptist Church also supports missionaries, such as Rick and Teresa Dickson now serving in Costa Rica as part of the Mission Aviation program.
House of Hope
For men with a drug or alcohol problem, House of Hope provides a supportive Christian environment in which they can seek assistance. Part of the Jimmy and Trudy Griffin Ministry, House of Hope provides for the basic needs of the men, while also providing training in Biblical principals of life management for the whole person. Using two recovery homes here in Americus, Georgia, House of Hope requires a one year commitment and assists these men during recovery by offering discipleship, individual counseling, job assistance, Bible study and more.
Marriage and Family Counseling
Also part of the Jimmy and Trudy Griffin Ministry, this program seeks to assist individuals and couples who desire to restore their marriage to wholeness and health. Using biblical principles to guide couples and families, the program helps build a relationship that lasts. A marriage at the breaking point can cause a loss of hope, but there is tremendous hope and encouragement when couples learn to practice God’s principles.
